Palmetto Scholars Academy was founded in 2010 by a group of parents and professionals seeking a unique educational environment on Charleston’s old Naval Shipyard that would meet the needs of gifted students. This initiative led to a sixth through eighth-grade charter school with a mission to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students by utilizing the best practices of gifted education. By empowering students through authentic engagement, PSA equips learners with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become high achieving global citizens.
