Jodie Mahony Center for Gifted Education

The Jodie Mahony Center for Gifted Education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock provides programs and services to talented students and their families, teachers, and administrators. Established in 2001, it is one of only 25 such centers nationwide.

Gifted Development Center

Linda Kreger Silverman, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical and counseling psychologist. She directs the Institute for the Study of Advanced Development, and its subsidiary, the Gifted Development Center (GDC) in Denver, Colorado, which has assessed over 6,500 children in the last 40 years. This is the largest data base on the gifted population. She and her colleagues at GDC have developed 40 instruments. For nine years she served on the faculty of the University of Denver (DU), in Counseling Psychology and Gifted Education. She developed a course on Assessment of the Gifted at DU, which was also a short course taught abroad. She has been studying the assessment, psychology and education of the gifted since 1961 and has written over 300 articles, chapters and books, including the textbook, Counseling the Gifted and Talented, adopted at 50 colleges. Her latest book, Giftedness 101 (Springer, 2013), contains a chapter on assessment. It has been translated into Korean and Swedish.

Robinson Center for Young Scholars at the University of Washington

The Halbert and Nancy Robinson Center for Young Scholars (RC) at the University of Washington is dedicated to teaching, research, and service, and to developing programs that serve highly capable young pre-college and college students. Through Early Entrance Programs (EEP), Transition Schools, enrichment and summer programming, RC provides intensive, in-depth learning experiences for gifted students in need of challenge. The Robinson Center for Young Scholars is located in Seattle, Washington, though out-of-state applicants can apply to UW Academy for early entrance.

Gifted Education Resource Institute at Purdue University

The Gifted Education Resource Institute (GERI) at Purdue University is an innovative center dedicated to the discovery, study, and development of human potential. The mission of GERI is holistic development of giftedness, creativity, and talents among individuals throughout their life span through enrichment programs for gifted youth; graduate programs for future scholars and leaders; professional development and coursework for educators of gifted; and cutting-edge research in psychology and education related to giftedness, creativity, and talent development.

Frances A. Karnes Center for Gifted Studies

The Frances A. Karnes Center for Gifted Studies at the University of Southern Mississippi was established in 1979 to further the education of gifted students and those with leadership abilities through teaching, research, and services. The Center offers classes, camps, and instructional programs for intellectually gifted students in grades pre-K through 12, as well as conferences, teacher education, and other services for those interested in gifted: teachers, parents, administrators, psychologists, counselors, and other concerned citizens.

Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented

The Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented (TAGT) connects and empowers educators and parents to meet the unique needs of gifted and talented students from every cultural background who see the world in unique ways and are developing minds that just might discover innovative answers to the most challenging questions of their generation.

Tennessee Association for the Gifted (TAG) seeks to provide advocacy and support for the gifted community in Tennessee.

Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education

The Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education (PAGE) is a non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to helping gifted learners, parents and educators. Since 1951, PAGE has assisted countless parents, teachers and administrators in helping Pennsylvania’s gifted learners reach their full potential. They do this through free Helpline, their network of local affiliates, annual conferences, and effective advocacy. PAGE fostered the passage of Pennsylvania’s Chapter 16, Special Education for the Gifted, one of the strongest for gifted education in the nation.

Oregon Association for Talented And Gifted

Oregon Association for Talented And Gifted (OATAG) is a grass-roots, volunteer-driven organization with representatives from around the state. OATAG’s mission seeks to advocate for the needs of talented and gifted children; serve as a resource for families, educators, and communities; and provide direction for excellence in education.

Oklahoma Association for the Gifted, Creative, & Talented
