JAGC (pronounced Jag-C) works in positive partnership with the Jeffco School District’s Gifted & Talented (GT) Department to provide leadership by promoting information about the educational and social-emotional needs of our advanced students.

Neurodiversity Podcast

The Neurodiversity Podcast features discussions with leaders in the fields of psychology, education, and beyond, with an emphasis on gifted/talented and 2e (twice-exceptional) children and adults. Neurodiversity explores parenting, counseling techniques, and best practices for enriching the lives of high-ability people.

The Amend Group

The Amend Group provides comprehensive psychological services including assessment and evaluation, consultations, counseling, and therapy for children, adolescents, and their families.
Parent and educational consultations for gifted, 2e children, and homeschoolers are also provided. These educational consultations are offered via secure video link for flexibility and privacy.

Center for the Gifted

The Center for the Gifted, located in Philadelphia and led by Dr. Suzanne Schneider, was established in 1983 to meet the needs of gifted people of all ages. Services include counseling and psychotherapy, gifted identification, vocational interest testing and guidance, and workshops and publications focusing on the needs of the gifted population.

Seth Perler

Seth Perler is an Executive Function and Education Coach who strives to help gifted students who struggle with homework motivation, organization, becoming overwhelmed or resistant, and more. In addition to online courses and toolkits, his site offers free resources, blog posts, and informative videos about twice-exceptionality and other relevant topics.

GT Carpe Diem

GT Carpe Diem empowers gifted students’ voices through educating them about how to successfully self-advocate. They offer workshops, a book, consulting with gifted advocate Deb Douglas, and several online resources.

Emotional Intensity in Gifted Students: Helping Kids Cope with Explosive Feelings

This book aims to help parents and teachers not only understand why gifted children are so extreme in their behavior, but also to learn specific strategies to teach gifted children how to live with their intensity. Worksheets, tip sheets, and checklists are included to help parents, teachers, and the students themselves learn to cope with the explosive feelings that often accompany giftedness.

Why Smart Kids Worry: And What Parents Can Do to Help

Allison Edwards guides readers through the mental and emotional process of where children’s fears come from and why they are so hard to move past. Edwards focuses on how to parent a child who is both smart and anxious. She brings her years of experience as a therapist to offer fifteen specially designed tools for helping smart kids manage their fears.

When Gifted Kids Don’t Have All the Answers

This book by Judy Galbraith, M.A. and Jim Delisle, Ph.D. offers practical suggestions for addressing the social and emotional needs of gifted students. The authors present ways to advocate for gifted education; help gifted underachievers, perfectionists, and twice-exceptional students; and provide all gifted kids with a safe, supportive learning environment.

Twice Exceptional: Supporting and Educating Bright and Creative Students with Learning Difficulties

This book, edited by cognitive psychologist Scott Barry Kaufman, provides cutting-edge, evidence-based approaches to creating an environment where twice-exceptional students can thrive. Viewing the 2e student as neither exclusively disabled nor exclusively gifted, but, rather, as a dynamic interaction of both, leading experts offer holistic insight into identification, social-emotional development, advocacy, and support for 2e students.
